Bishop Chester Talton dies at 84

Requiescat in Pace: The diocesan community mourns the Nov. 20 death of the Rt. Rev. Chester Talton, retired bishop suffragan of Los Angeles. Service: 11 a.m. Dec. 27, St. John’s Cathedral. May light perpetual shine upon him.

The Rev. Dr. Antonio Gallardo, rector of St. Luke’s Church in Long Beach, has been elected eighth bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles by Diocesan Convention meeting today in Riverside.
