You meet the most amazing people around the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, including veteran peace and justice activists the Rev. Canon Patricia O’Reilly and Grace R. Dyrness, for a meeting with the Rev. Canon Melissa McCarthy and me about the ongoing work of our border justice committee; CPE-for-everyone pioneer the Rev. Jana Milhon-Martin and Prism Restorative Justice co-director Sharon Matsushige Crandall, to discuss their shared vision for igniting the chaplain heart of every Christian; and, after a good old-fashioned comfort food lunch at Mimi’s in Tustin, the Rev. Kay Sylvester, so Melissa and I could thank her on behalf of the whole diocese for two years’ devoted service as president of the Standing Committee.
