Holy God, we each bear your image, and to you, every life is precious and every death a grief. You forget none whom you have made, and you number us one by one. Teach us to do the same. Lend an extra measure of compassion to those making life or death decisions in the days ahead. Chasten the proud, comfort the fearful, and shield the innocent. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
