Gracious God, when we’re tempted to give up something we love during Lent as a fetish of self-denial, help us remember the ancient Lenten discipline of forgoing a luxury to have resources to share with those in need. While the Big Mac on our plate may trouble you for many reasons, it delights you on the plate of our hungry neighbor. Through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
