In La Gran Posada tonight at St. Paul’s Commons, Echo Park, we anticipated the nine-day Mexican tradition of Las Posadas, usually held Dec. 16-24, when worshipers reenact Mary and Joseph’s search for shelter. Especially these chilly nights, it’s good to remember all who need safe places to lay their heads. Cosponsoring tonight’s service were the Program Group on Hispanic Ministries and The Gathering: a Space for Asian Pacific American Spirituality. After all had sung, prayed, and remembered: Tamales and pizza!
