The Rev. Dr. Julie Bryant, beloved parish priest in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles and The Episcopal Diocese of San Diego, is headed to The Episcopal Diocese of Virginia to serve as rector of two churches five miles apart. Children and grandchildren living nearby, in Maryland, are also a factor.
For a few months yet, by the grace of God, she’ll assist in transition ministry at the parish she’s been serving as priest in charge most recently,Saint Paul’s Episcopal Church in Lancaster. Julie has a rich international portfolio as well, having served for over two decades on our Program Group on Global Partnerships. During our lively chat on Wednesday at St. Paul’s Commons, Echo Park, she promised to continue to offer wise counsel in that vital ministry — and not to lose the way back to Los Angeles.
