Almighty God, your son anointed the apostles and us, their successors, as prophets of reconciliation, to teach, preach, act, and especially pray each day in the spirit of your coming realm of joy, justice, peace, and love. May the glimmer of hope for peace in Ukraine quicken our prayers for all those who work for peace, justice, and freedom in all the places around the world where people are at risk. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
