Gracious and loving God, we beseech your blessing on the 2,000 people gathering in Canterbury and at the University of Kent through Sunday, Aug. 7 for the 15th Lambeth conference, especially those who put out coffee in the Keynes dorm kitchen for jet-lagging bishops. May all your experienced Anglican Communion hands be patient teachers and your neophytes eager learners. May the Holy Spirit wear down ignorance and willful intolerance while encouraging respect for differences in outlook and the dignity of every human being. Bless those working on middle way solutions to polarizing dilemmas. When we adjourn, may our world engulfed in agony have cause to give thanks for this world writ small gathered in faith. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
