New Community, the multicultural ministries program of the diocese, will continue its series of full-day Asian Immersion experiences in which lay and clergy leaders will learn more about and engage with Asian cultures and communities on Saturday, March 2, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., with “Exploring the Korean Culture and Communities.”

Hosted by Bishop Suffragan Diane Jardine Bruce at St. James in-the-City Church, Los Angeles, the day will include presentations and discussions on the Korean populations in Southern California; an excursion in Koreatown; making and understanding the meaning behind a Korean meal.

Presenters will include the Rev. Yein E. Kim (St. Athanasius Church, Los Angeles); the Rev. Aidan Koh and the Rev. John Kim (St. James’ Church); the Rev. Thomas Lee (St. Anselm’s, Garden Grove); Joshua Lee (Christ Church, Redondo Beach) and the Ven. Jong Mae Park, Bishop of Overseas, Taego Order of Buddhism).
