Gracious and loving God, this morning in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles, we hunger to know. Whether our neighbor’s home is safe. How to recover and rebuild when all is lost, at home or at church. Whether the worst is behind or ahead. How to be better prepared next time. But what we already know is that you love us, that you made us for your purposes, and that as dawn comes, you invite us each to acts of mercy, kindness, generosity, and love which, should we fail to do them, will not be done. And we know that our Lord Jesus Christ has been there already and walks with us into the light. Through him we pray. Amen.
