Here’s a baseball note to brighten the day of fellow fans. I’ve known Andy Guilford, at left, since the nineties, before we were conscious co-religionists. He’s a retired federal judge and longtime lay leader at St John Chrysostom Church in Rancho Santa Margarita. At Dodger spring training today, he ran into Dave Eisen, my friend since college newspaper days in 1975 or so, also an attorney, and the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles’ outside counsel. The Dodgers’ home opener is March 27 vs. the Detroit Tigers, my birthright team. So whatever else you might be worried about, we’ve got that going for us, which is nice. Because one just steps a little lighter when they’re playing baseball.
