My scrapbook from tonight’s fellowship and fundraising event hosted at St. Paul’s Commons, Echo Park by IRIS Interfaith Refugee & Immigration Service, Los Angeles and its executive director, immigration justice attorney and advocate Troy Elder. Guest of honor was Boston-born, Santa Monica-based painter Katharine Gould. Inspired by COVID constriction, her latest paintings, on display in the Great Hall at St. Paul’s, simultaneously convey the perils immigrants and asylum seekers face and the freedom and welcoming grandeur of sea and sky. Their sale will benefit IRIS. Contact Troy for more information, and come see the paintings during regular office hours. Read more about Katharine’s work here.
