Almighty God, scripture discloses that when your son returns in his glory, he will divide the nations as a shepherd separates sheep from goats, offering a place in your kingdom to those who welcomed the stranger. We give you thanks as Poles, mindful of their nations’ shared history, open their doors to millions of refugees from Ukraine. Witnessing these scenes, may Americans’ neighborliness increase toward those fleeing injustice in Central America, to whom we too are connected by bonds of culture, historical experience, and sheer humanity. Through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
