My scrapbook from today’s chrism mass (where we blessed a year’s supply of holy oil for our missions and parishes) and renewal of ordinations vows by us priests, deacons, and bishops in the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles. Assisted by our St. Paul’s Commons, Echo Park colleague the Rev. Norma Yanira Guerra, back with us after three months’ medical leave, the Rev. Canon Melissa McCarthy was celebrant, and I preached. Our gracious hosts were the Very Rev. Anne Sawyer and the people of St. John’s Cathedral in Los Angeles.
